RE: Ken's Tackle Fishing Report

Biting Better!

July 20, 2010

The Walleye bite has picked up again on Otter Tail Lake.  Fish are in 15 to 30 feet of water on midlake humps and islands.  Crawlers and leeches are working the best.

Crappies and sunfish continue to bite on Dead, East Lost, Deer, Marion and other smaller lakes.  Crappie minnows, wax worms and small crawlers are working well.

Bass are good on most lakes using leeches and artificial.  A new artificial leech is on the market.  It's called the Slimer, it has the most natural action and texture that I've seen.  Stop in and take a look, I have them on display in water.  Leeches are getting harder to find this time of the year - so this will get you some fish regardless.

If you like catching Northerns, come on over to South Turtle in the cabbage weeds using buzz baits.
