RE: Ken's Tackle Fishing Report

Alternatives to Leeches You Ask?

July 29, 2010

Walleyes continue to bite in the Otter Tail Lake area.  Depths range between 20 and 30 feet on sunken islands and shoreline breaks.

Crawlers and leeches are best.  Now that leeches are harder to find, a great alternative is called "Slimers".  One of the most realistic artificial baits around.  They  come in different colors and are wet in organic flesh baits.  We have some on display at Ken's Tackle, so stop in to check them out. The look real and we have great reports on them.

As far as fishing, there is a shallow bite after dark pulling plugs in 5 to 10 feet of water.  Panfish bite is good on all lakes in 10 to 12 feet of water.  Northerns are in thick cabbage and are producing with buzz baits.

Give Gary a call at Ken's Tackle - 218-495-2895 for the latest.  Be safe when fishing!
