RE: Fishing report
Been Fishing? - The Season is Almost Half Over!
Fishing on Otter Tail Lake this winter started out with a bang. Early ice allowed people to get out on GREAT ice and experience great walleye fishing. There were more houses than ever through the holiday season. Life is good.
Walleyes caught on the weed lines along with perch were good size for people. Then we were hit with snow storms the first of the year. Great news - we have the best volunteers who are plowing roads all over the lake. All good news. Thank you fellow fisherman!
Houses are back out on the lake and fishing is improving. Walleyes are caught in 25 to 30 feet of water using shiners or fatheads.
Perch are being caught in 10 to 12 feet of water using fatheads or crappie minnows on a small jig.
There is a lot of time left to get out fishing - so take advantage of the time to get out and get some fresh air and a good time.
Fish houses, by the way, do not have to be off the lake in our area until March 7th. So time is precious. Enjoy!
Stop in to Ken's Tackle - we have over a dozen fish houses for rent and resorts in the area who can handle you and your friends. Watch for updates on www.Kenstackle.com or call 218-495-2895. See you soon!
