Otter Tail Lake Is Producing Great Catches!
You'll find walleye in the 14 to 20 foot range. Shiners are still the best producers.
Bass opener was one of the best. Our bass fishermen had the most success in using Sally Jigs. Folks think of the Otter Tail Lake area as a walleye capital - love to tell you - we have a lot of action with bass as well!
For the latest, give Gary a call at 218-495-2895 at Ken's Tackle. Or stop in - we are the only full-service bait shop on the west side of Otter Tail Lake, Battle Lake.
We also have some nice pictures we can email you if you'd like. Gary

Ken's Tackle Fishing report
Otter Tail Lake Bite is ON!
Fishing in the Otter Tail Lake area continues to be great! Walleyes are being caught in 8 to 16 feet of water. A jig & shiner or Lindy Rig and shiner are the best combos right now.
Crappies and sunfish are going on the smaller lakes in 6 to 14 feet of water.
Bass opener is this coming weekend and they are going to be active along the weed edges in shallow water. Our area is growing in bass awareness, most think of us as walleye country - come up and check it out.
There was a tournament on Otter Tail this past weekend and the winning weight for 12 fish was 34 pounds. Beautiful fish and lots of them. Everyone brought in a nice catch and had a great time!

Ken's Tackle Fishing report
Fishing Opener Weekend Ended With a Smile!
Although weather was a factor on Saturday, opening fishing weekend ended sunny and nice conditions for fishing!
You found most boats looking for calmer water - a lot hung around the river inlet and many found success early in the morning in the shallows.
As the day progressed, folks moved to the breaklines on Otter Tail Lake and they continued to find fish.
Shiners and a Lindy Rig were the ticket for most fishermen as water temps were in the low 50's.
The weekend ended with a sunny Sunday and most fish caught were in the 15 to 25 foot depth range. As the temps rise. the shiners began running today (Monday) so we hope to see a greater supply of them.
This Friday and Saturday, the Wild 104 tournament happens. We look forward to hosting another great year for them.

Fishing report
Ken's Tackle is Open 24 Hours This Friday!
Fishing should be great this year - not much pressure from this winter, as we had a lot of snow and it was tough for folks to get on the lake. So there is an excitement in the air for everyone to get back on the water!
Walleye population looks great. The hatchery on Walker Lake stripped eggs in record time with a lot of nice 16" to 24" walleyes. Water temps are rising and the shiners are beginning to move. We happen to have shiners now for you. Count down begins!
