Ken's Tackle Fishing report

Great Weekend Fishing!

June 20, 2011, 08:57 AM

Fishing continues to be good in the Otter Tail Lake country.  Crawlers and leeches in 18 to 25 feet of water.  Shad Raps after dark in 8 to 10 feet of water.
Crappies have slowed down a bit - but sunfish are very active.  Bass bite is exceptional!
Scott's Bait & Tackle Tournament went for 2 days on Otter Tail Lake last weekend.  Winners Sanchez/Roehl with 12 fish at 35.68 pounds.  Here's the top 5 standings:
Sanchez/Roehl - 12 fish - 35.68 lbs
Becker/Anderson - 12 fish - 33.66 lbs.
Carr/Carr - 12 fish - 33.44 lbs.
Johnson/Johnson - 12 fish - 32.93
Rudolph/Bauck - 10 fish - 31.90
The team Rudolf/Bauck caught the biggest walleye at 7.8 lbs.
All boats caught nice fish!  Great time and great fishing!

RE: Ken's Tackle Fishing report

It's Still Tonight - Let's Go Fishing...

June 13, 2011, 09:25 PM

It's interesting watching what goes on with fishing and the weather.  One day it's good to go - the next it's too windy to head out.  A bit frustrating for most.
Yet for those who find it as an adventure - or hit the lake when they can- you'll find the walleye in depths of 10 to 25 feet on the weed lines and humps of Otter Tail Lake.  Crawlers, leeches and minnow are still the ticket.
The Otter Tail Sportsmen Club ran a great tournament last weekend.  Even I got a chance to par-take!  Carr and Carr won bringing in 6 fish weighing 18 pounds.  Lots of fish were caught (and released I'll add) - so the fishing is good.
Crappies and sunfish have been great on area lakes in 5 to 10 feet of water.
Bass bite has been better than past years.  You'll find them in the shallow water using buzz baits and Sally Jigs.
To get the up to the moment news on fishing - give Gary a call at Ken's Tackle.  Fishing is on - still water or choppy!

Walleyes and Bass - Oh My!

June 08, 2011, 08:13 PM

Fishing is going well in the Otter Tail Lake area.  Using shiners, crawlers or leeches will do the trick in 18 to 25 feet of water.  Most happy fishermen are finding them around the humps in the middle of Otter Tail Lake - or take a spin along the shoreline breaks.

If you are into bass fishing - come on down!  Bass are doing well in the surrounding area.

For help on where to find them and with what - give Gary a call at Ken's Tackle @ 218-495-2895.
