Kens Tackle Fishing report

Fishing Improves on Otter Tail Lake!

Gary Peterson, Kens Tackle

The great news is fishing on Otter Tail Lake has really improved. During the day crawlers and spinners are working best on weedlines up to 20 feet deep.

The number 5 Rapalas are the best crankbait in 7 to 10 feet of water early in the morning and late in the evening.

Sunfish have been very active on area lakes when fishing in the weeds.

Crappie bite has been a little sluggish. But Bass are active on all lakes in the weeds. Northern bite has also been pretty fair. We are finding Muskies around 10 to 20 feet of water on West Battle Lake.

To get the latest, stop in or give us a call at Ken's Tackle - 218-495-2895.

Ken's Tackle Fishing report

Fish Deeper!

By Gary Peterson, Ken's Tackle

Fishing on Otter Tail Lake is deeper during the day - 18 to 25 feet using crawlers and leeches.
Crankbait bite has been good at night using No. 5 Shad Raps in 6 to 10 feet of water. Colors working best are purple, perch, firetiger and bluegill. We have plenty in the shop to help you.
Sunfish have been active on most lakes using wax worms and small crawlers.
Ken's Tackle is also offering Fishing Seminars on Saturday nights at 7:00 by Justin Lightfoot, pro-fisherman. Come on in and learn the techniques to fish great walleye on Otter Tail Lake!

Licenses still can not be purchased, please write to your legislature and push them to get the budget resolved. We are missing precious time on our wonderful lakes and parks.

Great Traditions over the 4th!

By Gary Peterson

Fishing brought a lot of smiles and fish frys over the weekend. What a great time!
Walleyes were caught in the evening in 8 to 10 feet of water using Shad Raps. During the day you could find them deeper in 20 to 30 feet with crawlers and spinners.
Bass bite is good on lakes. Sunfish and crappies are getting better in 10 to 14 feet of water.
The Lund Mania Tournament on Otter Tail Lake was a great tournament. Congratulations goes out to a couple of well known fishermen in the area: Chad Freiderich and Larry Rick. Congrats and many more!
